Kate Hansen Bundt
Bundt has been Secretary General of the Norwegian Atlantic Committee since 2010.
Kate Hansen Bundt holds a Cand.polit. degree from the University of Oslo (1992). Her academic interests include Germany's political development and role in Europe, the European integration process (EU), transatlantic relations (NATO), and Norwegian defense and security policy. She was a research fellow at Humboldt University in East Berlin during the final years of the GDR regime and was awarded the Willy Brandt Prize in 2018 for her long-standing and extensive contributions to German-Norwegian relations.
Bundt serves on the boards of the Norwegian Centre for Conflict Resolution (NOREF) and the Fridtjof Nansen Institute (FNI). Additionally, she served as Chair of the Board at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) from 2014 to 2021, where she was also a research fellow from 1990 to 1993. She then spent 12 years at the Europa Program (1993–2006). Bundt has been a member of several government-appointed committees, including the “Committee on Security Policy, Disarmament, and International Challenges to Norwegian Security” (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 2007–09), the European Assessment (2010–12, NOU 2012:2), and the Expert Group on the Defense of Norway established by the Ministry of Defence (2015: A Joint Effort). She completed the executive course at the Norwegian Defence University College in 2009.
